As a service provider of IT software for cycling tourists, cyclebee GmbH takes the protection of your personal data very seriously. We collect and process personal data only to the extent described here and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 2. Personal data

Cyclebee processes personal data that is collected or transmitted by business partners (including customers, suppliers, and other individuals who have or are initiating a business relationship with Cyclebee) within the scope of a business relationship. Depending on the contract, the following categories of personal data are processed:

  • Inventory data (e.g. names, addresses).
  • Contact details (e.g. email, phone numbers).
  • Content data (e.g., text entries, photographs, videos).
  • Usage data (e.g. websites visited, interest in content, access times).
  • Metadata/communication data (e.g., device information, IP addresses).

3. Purpose and legality

cyclebee GmbH processes personal data for the provision of services and software development related to cycling and cycle touring. The following legal bases are considered:

3.1 Fulfillment of contractual obligations and pre-contractual measures pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR

In order to fulfill our contractual or pre-contractual obligations to our business partners, the processing of personal data is necessary. Should you choose not to provide us with this data, the conclusion or execution of the contract or pre-contractual services may be impossible. An existing contract may no longer be able to be fulfilled under these circumstances and may have to be terminated. Please refer to the individual contracts for the scope and specific purpose of data processing. If you have registered as a test subject, this is solely for the purpose of contacting you regarding future tests. In this case, your data will be deleted after 24 months.

3.2 Safeguarding legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR

cyclebee processes your data within the scope of the company's ordinary business operations (e.g., accounting, controlling) based on the legitimate interest in proper and efficient business management and for process and business optimization.

3.3 Consent pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR

If the processing of personal data goes beyond contractual or legal obligations and legitimate interests, cyclebee obtains the consent of its business partners, for example, for sending our newsletter. In the case of consent, the data is processed exclusively for the stated purpose. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. 4. Recipient

Recipients of personal data are the founders and employees of cyclebee (e.g. IT administrators, support, marketing, logistics, accounting), who process it according to the purpose of use and the legal basis.
Depending on the purpose of the processing, cyclebee may transfer data to commissioned data processors (possibly, in particular, newsletter service providers, online payment processing providers, and logistics partners), provided this is necessary for us to fulfill the respective task. When selecting its data processors, cyclebee ensures compliance with data protection regulations. Agreements are concluded with the data processors to ensure that personal data is processed confidentially and carefully. The collected data will not be sold or disclosed to uninvolved third parties without justification. Depending on the concluded contract, the transfer of data to third parties may be necessary.

5. Storage duration

We will generally only retain your data for as long as is necessary for processing based on the respective purpose and legal basis, and as permitted by applicable law. Your personal data, which you provide to us when contacting us, will be stored for as long as necessary to answer the respective inquiry.

7. Website – Personal Data

During your visit to our website, we may process the following personal data:

Moreover, the USA does not guarantee the security of personal data. Therefore, there is a possibility that personal data may be used by authorities for control and surveillance purposes. There are no effective legal remedies against this data access.

9. Sensitive Data

Sensitive data (e.g., location, navigation, health, and performance data) entered into the cyclebee app and associated with a user is stored for internal analysis and to monitor the app's functionality. This confidential data will not be shared with third parties.

10. Usage data

Usage data is generated in the cyclebee app in the event of a customer request and is stored solely for internal analysis purposes and to monitor the app's functionality. This usage data is not shared with third parties.

11. Deleting the account

If you wish to delete your account, please use the “Contact Support” function in the cyclebee app menu and notify us that you would like to delete your account. We will delete your account within 2 business days.

12. Confidentiality

All employees of cyclebee were bound to secrecy regarding information entrusted to them or learned by them in the course of their work.

13. Data security

Data security is of paramount importance to us. Cyclebee has implemented all necessary technical and organizational measures to ensure the security of data processing and to process personal data in a way that protects it from unauthorized access. Cyclebee's IT infrastructure meets current security standards and is regularly audited.
The HTTP connection between the app and the backend server is encrypted using the TLS protocol. The server is located in Europe and is hosted by Contabo GmbH.
